Filming was an important part of the project. Capacity development activities were led by the Peruvian Film-maker Fernando Valdivia from the Escuela de Cine Amazónico.
As part of the project Fernando produced a feature length film, documenting his own return to the Purús region after 25 years and examining the issues that continue to face the region through three figures he meets there. The film, Grompes, Curumí y la Niña de la Papaya, is currently being shown at screenings across Peru and has won a number of awards. Follow on https://www.facebook.com/grompescurumiylaninadelapapaya.
